New Applicant Portal: Grantee Partner Help

Hello! I know someone posted this already, but I can't seem to find it.

What are organizations doing to prepare and help their past/current/future grantee partners move to the new application portal? Would anyone be willing to share about:

  • Language they use in their RFP on how grantees can set up an account
  • Ways to communicate the merge to the new system (email blasts, website, phone calls, etc)
  • guidance on how to help grantee partners when they have issues in the new application portal

I know Blackbaud has shared this resource: Applicant Recommendations.pdf and CDP has this basic resource listed on our website: 2025_01-Truist-Foundation-Western-NC-Fund-FAQ.pdf

Hi Audrey. We decided to not make a big deal out of it. We didn't even suggest they download anything from the previous portal because we can provide anything they need. Our announcement email read like this:

    --------
Beginning in 2025, all applicants and grantees will utilize a new grantee portal to submit applications and reports to the Foundation. Unfortunately, the new portal is not connected to the old portal where you previously submitted grant applications and reports. The old portal is expected to be permanently shut down in August 2025. Between now and then, we will make it clear which portal you should use to submit your reports for previously awarded grants.

Your link to submit a 2025 responsive grant application is: https://bbgm-apply.yourcausegrants.com/apply/programs/

You will be required to create an account for the new portal before you start your application. Collaboration is a new feature of the new grantee portal, so you will be able to add additional partners to your grant applications. The Foundation strongly recommends that you allow at least 2 persons associated with your organization to have access to every application.
    ---------

We've only had our cycle open about 2 weeks. One applicant was very positive about the new experience. No one has called with problems creating their account. One applicant had issues finding her organization in the database, but she was spelling it wrong (true story!). Next week we'll probably learn more because the cycle closes on Friday 3/14.
