Blackbaud’s Education Management Solutions: What’s New For October 18, 2022

Here are all of the latest changes, updates, and new features for the Education management products for October 11, 2022.

Billing management (Early Adopter Program)

Reenroll in Auto-Pay for the current school year

Previously, payers with terminated Auto-Pay statuses could not be reenrolled in Auto-Pay for the current school year. Now, payers with terminated Auto-Pay statuses can be reenrolled in the current year in the same way as their initial Auto-Pay enrollment.

This change accommodates payers who needed to change their payment plans mid-year and therefore terminated Auto-Pay as a result.

Enrollment management

Checklist

We've added a setting for admissions managers on a checklist step to automatically waive it. Please keep in mind that all previous steps will be auto-waived as well. We've also added a new Auto Waived filter option on the checklist to help visually indicate steps that have been automatically waived.

Event management

• When processing a prefilled event registration and selecting to update another existing user account, the two users will now merge.
• Admissions managers can now copy Registration options (including notifications) for better consistency and without needing to recreate an option from scratch.
• When an admissions manager selects an event from the admissions calendar, the attendee list now populates.
• From the Attendees list when viewing an event, we've added more options to the Nametag print modal including Preferred name, Last name, Pronouns, Entering Year, and Entering Grade.

Financial Aid management

Covid special circumstances question removed from application questions

We removed the COVID-19 question under the Special Circumstances section of the application. Schools wanting to ask this question can add it as a custom question.

Tuition Management

Email receipts for automatic payments

In preparation for Mastercard’s recurring payments requirements that go into effect next year, an email receipt is now sent to payers when their automatic debit payment using a credit card is processed. Previously, email receipts were only sent for one-time credit card payments.

Subscribe to “What’s New”

To receive email notifications when the What’s new update appears, make sure to subscribe to the K12 community’s blog by logging into the community site and selecting the Subscribe button.
To manage your community subscriptions:

1. Log into the community and locate your name and profile picture in the upper right corner.
2. Select the drop-down arrow and select My Account.
3. From the My Account page, select the Subscriptions tab and scroll down to the Blogs section.
4. Locate Blackbaud K-12 Education solutions Blog. If you want to be notified as soon as the What’s new content goes live on the community, select the Instant option. You can also opt for Daily and Weekly notifications.
5. Scroll to the end of the page and select Save changes.

Where is the nametag feature in Enrollment Management? I did try searching “nametags” in Blackbaud Knowledgebase filtered for the Enrollment Management product and didn't get any hits. Can you tell us more?

Hey Meredith! I updated the release notes to prevent any potential confusion, but the Nametags are part of the Event management feature. Essentially, when you view the Attendee's List (people who have signed up for an event) there is an option for name tags that will print the name tags for people registered for that event. You can pick the Name Formatting. Here's a screenshot:
