Blackbaud’s Education Management Solutions: What’s New For December 6, 2022

Here are the latest changes, updates, and new features for the Education management products for December 6, 2022.

Billing management (Early Adopter Program)

TRP Fee Type

We've added a new fee type called TRP Fee (Tuition Refund Plan) for BBBM integrated contracts. The TRP fee can be viewed from Billing Management by going to Billing, Billing Years, Fees, and then Tuition Refund Plan.
Because of this, the TRP Fee can now be selected when adding enrollment fees to a contract form through Enrollment management, Enrollment, Contracts, Manage Contract Form, Edit contract, Fee Schedule, then Add Enrollment Fees.

Enrollment management

Candidate List

Admissions managers can now add the Parent Preferred Name and Contract returned date columns to the Candidate list.

Contract Types

Decision type is now available for admissions managers on the Assign contract types wizard. The benefit of this addition is that schools can now see all "accepted" decision types in one place, rather than having to view each one at a time.
In addition, re/enrollment managers can now see Preferred Name on the Assign contract type wizard.

Tuition management

BBID for school users

Starting December 5, school users will no longer be able to access their Tuition Management account without first creating or linking a Blackbaud ID (BBID) to log in to tuition.blackbaud.school.
Blackbaud ID (BBID) allows users to securely sign in to the Blackbaud solutions ecosystem with enhanced security. For information on setting up BBID, see the help topic Manage Accounts.

API and Integrations

OneRoster API

We've added three new endpoints to our OneRoster API with support for both OAuth 1.0 and OAuth 2.0: GET Courses for school, GET Grading Periods for a Term, and GET Terms for a School.

  • GET Courses for a school returns a collection of courses provided in course objects that correspond to the ID of the school included in the endpoint URL.

    • URL: /schools/{school_id}/courses

  • GET Grading Periods for a term returns a collection of grading periods provided in academicSessions objects that correspond to the ID of the term in the endpoint URL.

    • URL: /terms/{term_id}/gradingPeriods

  • GET Terms for a School returns a collection of terms provided in academicSessions objects that correspond to the ID of the school included in the endpoint URL.

    • URL: /schools/{school_id}/terms

Subscribe to “What’s New”

To receive email notifications when the What’s new update appears, make sure to subscribe to the K12 community’s blog by logging into the community site and selecting the Subscribe button.
To manage your community subscriptions:

  1. Log into the community and locate your name and profile picture in the upper right corner.

  2. Select the drop-down arrow and select My Account.

  3. From the My Account page, select the Subscriptions tab and scroll down to the Blogs section.

  4. Locate Blackbaud K-12 Education solutions Blog. If you want to be notified as soon as the What’s new content goes live on the community, select the Instant option. You can also opt for Daily and Weekly notifications.

  5. Scroll to the end of the page and select Save changes.
