WHERE YOU @?
Beginning today, when replying to or quoting a discussion forum topic, the user you are replying to will automatically be @ mentioned (or “tagged”) in your reply. This change will ensure users are better alerted within discussions and make it easier to follow threaded replies in forum topics.
BOOST YOUR BADGES IS STILL GOING!
Thank you to all our members who are working to boost their inquirer (asking a question) and facilitator (answering a question) badges during our current “Boost Your Badges” campaign! Don’t forget that in addition to leveling up in these badges, you will also earn bonus points every time you ask or answer a question. Read more about the campaign here.
NEW FEATURED MEMBERS PAGE
Based on member feedback, we’ve also launched a new featured members page, where each month we’ll highlight a different member group. The first members to be featured are our level one inquirers. Thank you to these members for adding to the body of knowledge in Community. And there is plenty of time for anyone to add their name to this page by answering and asking questions this month!
We are also excited to announce the first profile in our new community member spotlight series! In these spotlights, which will also be posted on the featured members page, we’ll be digging in deeper with community members who have participated in customer stories, getting “behind the scenes” and learning more about their lives, both personal and professional. First up is Bri Seoane, chief mission officer at the Ronald McDonald House Charities Bay Area, who started a women’s soccer team in El Salvador while stationed there with the Peace Corps, enjoys a good animal print tracksuit, and works every day to mobilize resources that will help provide comfort to sick kids and their families. GET TO KNOW A NINJA
Each week, we aim to bring you a little closer to one of our Blackbaud Community super users (aka Ninjas). This week, we would like to introduce Cathy Spencer; Assistant Director Donor Relations at The Ohio Masonic Home Foundation. Cathy is a green ninja, a Blackbaud Champion, and is Blackbaud Certified® in Raiser’s Edge® and Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge NXT®
What area are you in (geographically) and why do you love it?
I’m in Springfield, Ohio. I love this area because it gets all four seasons – not too much snow – and we are close to both cities and rural areas. You can go out and enjoy the night life, see the cows at the dairy, or enjoy the backyard watching the fireflies!
What do you enjoy about the Blackbaud Community?
I appreciate benefitting from other’s knowledge and experiences. If I’m struggling with something in Raiser’s Edge®, I know I can pop into Community and search. More often than not, I will find a great solution there. Over the years, I have made friends with many Community members. I am looking forward to the day of an in-person bbcon, so I can see some wonderful, friendly faces again!
What is something that you never thought you would enjoy at your current job that gets you up and motivates you now?
Something I never thought I would enjoy? Talking to people on the phone. I am usually happy if a call goes to voice mail. J I have learned that it is really great to speak to people and hear their voices, their stories, make a connection and be able to help in some small way. Introverts can do this!
