Are you ready for Raiser's Edge NXT?

Raiser’s Edge NXT has created a lot of buzz and excitement in the nonprofit world—as it should. Raiser’s Edge NXT has some amazing features that really do make the life of a fundraiser (and other nonprofit staff members) so much easier. However, new software always creates concern for staff, especially DBAs.



I wore the DBA hat (along with a few other hats) at a nonprofit before coming to work at Blackbaud, so I totally understand. During my tenure at the nonprofit, we moved from Raiser’s Edge 6 to Raiser’s Edge 7. As the DBA, I wanted to make sure I knew exactly what I needed and should do to make the move smoother.



That is why Blackbaud University created the Raiser’s Edge: Preparing for Raiser’s Edge NXT online instructor-led course. We want everyone from fundraisers to DBAs to be excited and ready to move to Raiser’s Edge NXT. 



If you visit Blackbaud Communities, you’ll see lots of questions around what you should do to prepare your database. We’ve tried to answer all of those questions in this course. In class, you’ll learn everything from setting up users to cleaning up your database. We even discuss considerations for updating your policies and procedures guide.



DBAs can rest assured that their databases are safe, and life will be smoother after implementing Raiser’s Edge NXT. I know I would have been ecstatic about a system that enabled my fundraisers and other staff members to keep actions and proposals up-to-date and more informed about donors and prospects. Generating constituent and prospect reports for my fundraisers, as well as entering and updating actions for them, were not my favorite tasks. I’m sure most DBAs have a few other tasks they would rather spend their time on.
