What's New In Raiser's Edge NXT The Week of February 4

This week, Raiser's Edge NXT introduces custom insights for those outside the U.S.! It also includes other features such as the ability to move event information to a different participant (or guest), and new default field type settings for registration forms. Create custom insights (now also for those outside the U.S.).  With Insight designer, you can now create new, custom insights to include in your dashboards. Previously, this functionality was limited to customers in the United States, but it is now available for all locations.

From Analysis, Report builder, you can create more flexible and customized dashboards. For example, custom insights enable you to:

Tip: To help get started designing custom gift insights, see Gift Insight Recipes.

With a dashboard's flexible formatting options, you can:

  • Place out-of-the-box and custom insights side-by-side and adjust their sizes.

  • Edit an insight's measures and attributes directly from the dashboard.

  • Continue to share dashboards with others at your organization.

Note: Admins! In Control panelSecurity, you can choose which roles can access AnalysisReport builder. For more information, see Report Builder Rights.

For more information, see Report Builder.

Note: If you don’t see this option, activate your free trial of Insight designer under Analysis.

Move event information to a different participant or guest. To make last minute changes to your participant list, such as when a constituent registers for an event, but their spouse attends instead, you can now easily move event information from one record to another. Similarly, you can move event information from a duplicate constituent record to the record you’re keeping.

Note: The event information includes all the details from the original participant or guest, such as their participation level, registration status, and participant options. However, it does not include payments.

From an event’s record, under Participants, select Work with participants. From the list, select Edit from a participant or guest’s menu menu.png and then search for and select the record to switch to. For more information, see Participants.

To save time and ensure registration forms add constituent information to your database consistently, you now only have to set the email, address, and phone types once for all your registration forms from ToolsSettings. Previously, you set them on each registration form. For more information, see Form Settings.

Tip: The constituent code mapping in ToolsSettings doesn't apply to online registration forms. To apply a constituent code to all new constituents created through a registration form, set it on the form. From an event record, under Online registration forms, edit an existing form or create a new one. Under Get Started, select Apply a constituent code to registrants.
