I thought you said Shared Phones were gone?

For clients that integrate Education Edge with Raiser’s Edge, the Education Edge 7.87 Patch 3 removed the concept of sharing phones. This means now you can share only the physical address across family records. Now, if a parent calls in with an updated phone number or email address, all records that share that number or email need to be updated individually.


However, we’ve identified an issue; when you create relationships from a record and use the copy address functionality, it not only brings forward the information for the originating record, it also overwrites the contact information with the relationship detail. This is also true when using the Online Re-enrollment form’s Same Address as student option.


We are working on a permanent fix to this issue. In the meantime, create the relationship records individually rather than directly from the student or parent record when adding new records. If you have Online Campus Community, you can use the profile update form to have parents/students enter their updated contact information.
