Here are the latest changes, updates, and new features for the Education management products for January 23, 2024.

Academics

Attendance

Attendance managers can now enable a setting to allow faculty to edit attendance after a class has taken place. Under Attendance Setup, attendance managers can enable the Allow teachers to edit attendance entries during the day, and then specify either For any student or Only for students with faculty approved reasons.



Calendar

On January 30, we're giving the Faculty calendar a new look and feel. The new calendar can be viewed from Faculty, My Day, and then Schedule & Performance.



In addition, this new view can be accessed from Academics by using the Group Finder, select Go to groups list, filter on Classes, select the class, and then Schedule. Along with the new look, administrators now have a Day view option, as well as forward and backward arrows to skip to a specific date.

Billing management

Identify potential income on a per fee-basis

The Projected income report is now available, providing Billing clerks with a way to show potential incoming revenue per statement period on a per-fee basis. Select an amount under a statement period for a fee to see a list of students and how much they owe for a particular fee for a given period. Customize the report by using filters to include or exclude fees and export the report for analysis in accounting software.



To access the Projected income report, log into Blackbaud Billing management, hover over Reporting on the navigation, and select Projected income report.

School API

We’ve updated PATCH User update to now accept an array of fields_to_delete, enabling the request to remove data for each included comma-separated field_name (e.g., middle_name, living_status) from the user. If the field is part of an object, represent the field using dot notation (e.g., passport.number, locker.number) in the array.

Subscribe to “What’s New”

To receive email notifications when the What’s new update appears, make sure to subscribe to the K12 community’s blog by logging into the community site and selecting the Subscribe button.



To manage your community subscriptions:
  1. Log into the community and locate your name and profile picture in the upper right corner.
  2. Select the drop-down arrow and select My Account.
  3. From the My Account page, select the Subscriptions tab and scroll down to the Blogs section.
  4. Locate Blackbaud K-12 Education solutions Blog. If you want to be notified as soon as the What’s new content goes live on the community, select the Instant option. You can also opt for Daily and Weekly notifications.
  5. Scroll to the end of the page and select Save changes.
