It Takes a Community: January is so Eventful!

"I didn't get there by wishing for it or hoping for it, but by working for it." - Estee Lauder

We know you are all wishing, hoping and working hard to create social good.  We are wishing, hoping and working right along side of you.

Last month, we asked our Blackbaud Peers to load up the Blackbaud Community events calendar so we can offer you a chance to network with other members and hopefully learn something useful to help you work toward social good.

Why should I attend an event?
Engage with Product & Topic Experts
Learn tips, tricks, and other information to increase your Social Good skills. Grow your network by sending a Community friend request to the Blackbaud experts you meet during the event. @mention your new friends when posting any discussion questions after the event to get their opinion.

Connect while you Learn

Use the Blackbaud Community Event RSVP feature to indicate your interest and see which other Blackbaud Community Members are attending. Friends can make learning a little more fun!

  • Raiser's Edge user groups and meetings are great, but I have never seen a single one for Altru.
  • I have attended RE user groups previously and I learned a lot.  It was a great experience and you got a different point of view on possibilities available.  I also attended BBCON in Nashville this past year!  Great way to learn and connect and grow your community knowledge.
  • Went to a K-12 Roadshow in October and it was fabulous! Great to interact directly with reps from BB and connect with other community member. I highly recommend going if one comes around near you.
  • I attended BBCON in Nashville this past October, and upon returning home, I've participated in several of Blackbaud's online training sessions on RENXT.
  • I'm not sure if this counts, but I am taking part in an early adopter program. It's been a great way to not only help test a product, but hear from other users and the developers on a regular basis. This is in addition to the many other great educational opportunities offered to learn about products!
  • I attended BBCON in October!  It was my first BBCON and it was amazing!  I also learned there was a local user group and attended my first user group meeting in 2019 also!  I'm looking forward to more NXT classes through the university.
  • I just signed up for the State of the System: Beyond the Basics! I think webinars throughout the year are essential to stay current on trends.

I also went to BBCON, and I have taken several online classes on NXT webview.
  • Thank you everyone for sharing the Events you attend.  It appears that BBCon, not surprisingly, is our most attended event!

Carol Radel‍ So glad the Raiser's Edge user groups are helpful.  Please let me know if you want to create your own Altru user group event in our calendar!  I will help you set it up so you can meet Altru users in your area.

Chris Fedor‍ Early Adopter Programs are very useful!  Thank you for being a part of one.   I would love to include you in our the swag drawing, so did you attend a webinar or a face to face event connected to the Early Adopter Program where you learned from other peers and/or Blackbaud Staff?

  • @Elizabeth Perron, yes! We have weekly meetings online with BB staff and other customers involved with the early adopter program I'm in. I love them because it's great to hear perspectives of other users!
  • Chris Fedor‍ those count as events!  You are in the swag bag drawing!!
  • I attended a webcast about new overtime rules presented jointly by Blackbaud and Paycor on December 4th.  I also participated in several FE and FENXT webinars thoughout 2019.  My plan for 2020 is to hit as many FENXT webinars as possible.

  • 17 people have entered the Blackbaud Swag bag drawing by RSVPing to an event!  Most people have chosen "yes" a few people have clicked "Maybe" or "No".  All RSVP replies are welcome and count to enter you in the drawing!

  • There were so many great 1-hour Giving Tuesday webinars and BB University classes I attended last year! BBCON was the cream of the crop, though. :)

I attended (and presented at) bbcon 2019, and I participate in just about every NXT webinar I can find, as well as other webinars that are beneficial. Before moving to SE Florida I was active in the Philadelphia area User Group, but haven't found one here yet, so give me a shout out if you belong to one in the Fort Lauderdale area.
  • Thank you to all who replied to the blog below and/or used the RSVP functionality.   Our randomly chosen Swag winners are Sherry YatesDona WatsonRachel CavalierCarrie Goldberger‍ and Katie Rhodes‍!  Look for a private message from me tomorrow!

  • I attended the BB K-12 UC in Washington DC in July 2019 and also a roadshow/user group meeting at Belen Jesuit in November 2019 before everything got locked down and became virtual. Hoping we can get back to in person meetings in the near future.
