Each week, we aim to bring you a little closer to one of our Blackbaud Community super users (AKA Ninjas). This week, we’d like to introduce Amy Dana, database administrator for Bat Conservation International (yes, bats!). Amy is a green ninja, Blackbaud Champion, and certified in Raiser’s Edge®.

What area are you in (geographically) and why do you love it?

I live in the South outside Little Rock, Arkansas. Having grown up in the Midwest, I love not having to deal with ice and snow on a regular basis during the winter.

What do you enjoy about the Blackbaud Community?

I’ve met so many amazing people here! Yes, it’s a great place to come to ask questions and get great tips and tricks, but I’ve also made connections with some wonderful folks who are also dedicated to working for an equitable world.

What is something that you never thought you’d enjoy at your current job that gets you up and motivates you now?

I love taking a huge amount of complex data and creating a simple chart or report that any layperson can quickly understand. It’s like putting together a puzzle for me. It can be a bit tedious sometimes but the pay-off is absolutely worth it. Plus, there’s nothing quite like the feeling of completing a clean-up project.
