What’s New

We’re excited to share several powerful enhancements now available in Financial Edge NXT web view. These updates are designed to streamline workflows, reduce friction, and give you greater visibility into your financial operations.

  • More flexible ways to edit allocations, groups, and settings — Edit allocation details directly from multiple areas, with fewer clicks and greater visibility.
  • Real-time posting visibility during period close — Track in-progress posting directly from the Closing assistant to prevent duplicate posts, reduce errors, and close periods faster.
  • Generate recurring invoices faster — Recurring invoice generation now runs in the background. Start processing and receive a notification with a control report when it completes, improving reliability.
  • Streamline period close — Generate general ledger reports from Closing assistant. Select up to five reports and run them in one step to review balances and activity before closing fiscal periods.
  • Greater control when editing EFT check formats — Edit all EFT fields when working with EFT check formats. Configure options such as Include carriage return/line feed to ensure line breaks and output are correct in the generated EFT file.
  • Track project budgets at a glance – Use the Project budget vs actual tile on Home to monitor real‑time spending, compare actuals and encumbrances, and spot variances without running reports.
  • Payment processing is faster and more stable — These improvements reduce slowdowns, freezes, and stalled payment runs, especially for large or complex payments.
  • Manage thirdparty applications in Receivables — When a payer shares responsibility for a client's charges, you gain clearer insight and support more accurate billing.
  • Import data more efficiently with smart import mapping — Powered by Blackbaud AI, smart import mapping automatically suggests field mappings when you import data, reducing manual setup and improving accuracy.

The following features are in EAP for some customers.

  • Chat for Blackbaud AI
  • Expenses – generate invoice requests and upload charge receipts
  • Payables - generate new invoices from a draft
  • Automated deposits - only for gifts disbursed through Blackbaud Merchant Services (now part of Blackbaud Integrated Payments)

The following features are in LA for some customers.

  • Monitor accountlevel budgets at a glance — With the new Account budget vs actual tile on Home, view real‑time budget and spending, compare actuals and encumbrances, and quickly identify variances without running reports.
  • Assess chart health with confidence — Discover Chart Health Advisor to evaluate chart health, identify structural issues, and take guided action to improve reporting accuracy and reduce long‑term maintenance risk.
  • Bundle, schedule, and generate reports in bulk — Use report groups to bundle up to 20 reports and automatically generate and email them based on a schedule.

Be sure to explore these enhancements and see how they can simplify your day‑to‑day work.
