Connecting New DB Environment to Existing SKY API Application

We have a SKY API application that is connected to a test NXT database environment. This application has been in place and functioning for years. For reasons that are unclear, we lost our test database environment recently. Blackbaud has kindly replaced our old test database with a new one, but now our old SKY API application no longer functions, since it is still pointed to the old, non-existent environment. How do we go about pointing our existing application to the new database environment? We would prefer to simply reconfigure our existing application, rather than having to go through the process of creating a new application. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide!

@James Carpenter Did you check that your permissions (marketplace, env admin) were the same in the test environment as in prod?

  • Hey James. Apologies if I'm oversimplifying, but do you need to just connect it via the Marketplace page? Instructions.

  • Nick,

No, not oversimplifying at all! Your response got me very close to a solution. I was able to go to the Manage tab within Marketplace, enter the application ID for our app, and connect it. However, I couldn't determine a way to choose the environment, so it connected to our live environment instead of our test environment. (I immediately disconnected it, of course.)

My guess is that I need to switch environments within the Marketplace, but I'm not seeing how to do that. Any suggestions?

Thanks very much for your help!

  • @James Carpenter Glad to hear it! Unfortunately I don't know how to connect to the test environment and may need to tag the SKY team here to assist. @Todd DeSchuiteneer

  • @Erik Leaver, thank you! That was just the additional info we needed to get over the hump. We added the needed account permissions in our new test environment, after which we were able to get our app connected to the new environment and do several successful tests. Again, thank you very much!!!
