Membership forms are now available in all regions for all Raiser’s Edge NXT® customers with Membership. With the new web view Membership form, supporters can purchase new memberships, renew memberships, give memberships as gifts, add additional members, include an extra donation, and sign up for free memberships—all through a streamlined online experience.

With membership forms, donors and supporters can complete a variety of membership-related actions, including purchasing a membership, adding an additional donation, adding multiple members, giving a membership to someone else, or signing up for a free membership when applicable.

Membership programs can help build deeper relationships with supporters—but managing membership sign-ups, payments, gifts, renewals and records can require extra manual work—especially when information comes in from multiple channels.

The new Membership forms can help reduce the effort of managing memberships. When a form is submitted, Raiser’s Edge NXT automatically creates the membership record. If the transaction includes a gift, that gift record is also automatically linked to the new membership, helping your team keep membership and fundraising data connected from the start. You’ll also have the option to process the membership purchase as a renewal, rejoin, upgrade or downgrade via Online Data Review when applicable.

Is it possible to set up recurring membership gifts? Will this support membership renewals?

This initial release does not allow for recurring memberships but it does support membership renewals. Renewals are handled in Online Data Review, before the Batch is created. Be sure to vote on or create an Idea for recurring memberships so we can gauge interest across customers. Thanks!

I've read there is still some membership functionality that is limited to database view. Will these forms fully create a membership like we would use in DBV, and if not is there a list somewhere of what's specifically still in the works?

Hi Darren,

You're correct that all membership management functionality has not made it to webview yet. The memberships created by these forms can be viewed and managed in both webview and database view so you'd be able to do all of the same things you can today with the records with the caveat that you may need to continue doing some tasks in database view for the time being. No, they won't. Only customers who have the Membership module will be able to use Membership forms.

We have a business rule that a household can only have 1 membership at a time. Can you please allow us to match to spouse's memberships and/or merge membership records? We can't use this tool until we can do this.

Hi Anne, We are aware of and know our forms support customers who have the business rule where there's 1 membership per constituent record. It seems you could just use the Search function in Online Data Review to locate the household record you want to link to to keep your memberships all on a single household. I imagine you'd have a similar process for donations. I'd encourage you to test it out and see if that works for you. Feel free to reach out to me directly if you find yourself blocked. Thanks!
