Add Attribute/Custom Field for $5k or More Gifts

Hi Everyone,

Whenever someone donates $5k or more to a certain fund, I want the flow to add a specific attribute/custom field to their record. The flow is based off a Gift List in NXT where is it capturing the $5k or more gifts.

My flow works, but it is adding the attribute multiple times. I know I need to switch something somewhere, but can't put my finger on it. haha.

Any suggestions?

If not, you are still having a For each 1, which is the reason for the problem.

Your Create a constituent custom field action may be using dynamic content from the loop, which you will need to fix up

the logic is a little off, what you have from what I can deduce is, you are looping through each constituent custom fields and when it is not the one you want to add, add it, which means every custom field that isn't the one you want to add will go down the false path to add it.

here's what you need:

List gifts
remove ~~List constituents~~, not sure what you using this for
For each Gift
1. list constituent custom fields
2. Filter array
  1. provide the "value" (array of custom fields) to filter, and that category = the custom field attribute you want to add
3. Condition length(body of filter array) = 0
  1. If yes (means the custom field you want to add does not exist
    1. Create a constituent custom field
  2. If no
    1. nothing

ahh, that makes more sense, thank you Alex! I haven't created a flow in awhile, so my logic is rusty…I think I set it up like you suggested, but I'm getting this error. What output do I need? This is "for each" gift right? So I put the "body/value" of the List Gifts in there….

For each should select the body/value from the List gifts action

you also do not need the For each 1, just take Filter array and Condition right after List constituent custom fields action, and delete For each 1

Got it. I did have the body/value in the field…

ok, when I take the For each 1 out, it gives me this error…

means you are not using the right dynamic content for your filter array action.

hmm..I was using that output…if I switch to Value, then it adds a "For each 1" around the Array….

wrong dynamic content, you are selecting "each constituent custom field's value", which "put" you back into a For each loop to loop through each custom field.

ok, making progress! haha. The flow runs successfully, but nothing happens at the very end to add the custom field…

That worked, thanks! However, it adds it twice every time…haha. Much better than my original creation, just not sure why it is adding it twice now…
