App access after BB access removed for former employee

Question

We are wondering what happens to an application when a person on our team (who created an app) leaves?  We will be removing his Blackbaud access (to Raiser's Edge, etc.), and we are wondering what we will need to do?  Is there a way to transfer ownership of the application?

If possible, you should address this before the employee's access is removed.

If this is a SKY API application in the Blackbaud Developer Portal, applications can be transferred to another developer account. An application can have multiple contributors, but only one owner at a time, and the owner has permissions to manage users, transfer ownership, and delete the application.

Recommended approach:

* Have the current owner add another team member as a contributor to the application.
* Once that contributor accepts the invitation, the current owner can use the Transfer ownership option from the application's settings.
* After the transfer is completed, the new owner will have full control of the application.

If your organization is using a Developer Team in the SKY Developer Portal, it's also a good practice to assign applications to the team's organization and ensure multiple team members have appropriate access. This helps prevent ownership issues when staff changes occur.
