Constituent records hold a lot of important information, and as that information grows, it should be easier—not harder—to find what you need. To help, we’re introducing a tabbed layout for constituent records. Instead of one long, scrolling page, related details are grouped into focused tabs that load as you open them, helping you move through the record with less waiting and fewer distractions.
This feature is currently available through the Early Adopter Program (EAP). Organizations enrolled in EAP can preview the tabbed constituent record experience and provide feedback before broader availability. To join the EAP, see How do I join the Discovery process or Early Adopter Programs?
NOTE: The screenshots in this document show development builds and may differ from the final released experience.
Why we are making this change
Constituent records can support many different workflows, from reviewing contact details, to record updates, to preparing for the next donor conversation. Today, there are many tiles on a single page. The full page must load before you can find and work with a specific area, and tiles can shift as they finish loading. The tabbed layout is designed to make the record faster, more predictable, and easier to use.
- Faster performance — Only the active tab loads, so less time spent waiting.
- Clearer organization — Related information is grouped by theme.
- Faster navigation — Go directly to Giving, Actions, Notes, Attachments, or another area instead of scrolling through the full record.
- Redesigned workflows — Streamlined editing of giving, contact information, and more.
- Preserved context — The selected tab stays active as you move between constituent records.
What is changing
The constituent record is organized into 10 tabs. Most information is still available under familiar names, but it is grouped into focused pages instead of tiles on one long page. Some areas also include new or updated content.
- Overview provides a quick summary of the constituent, including a customizable Personal information tile and the new Key Insights tile.
- Giving combines a summary bar, gift list, and gift entry in one place.
- Actions, Notes, and Attachments each have a dedicated tab with a full-page list.
- Biographical, Prospect management, Participation, and Communications serve as categories that group existing tiles by theme.
- Add-ins collects partner integrations and constituent tiles from data sources outside of Raiser's Edge NXT.
The tabbed layout also introduces a streamlined editing experience for the Contact information tile, requiring fewer clicks to make updates.
What stays familiar
This update changes how the record is organized, not the purpose of the record itself. The constituent details you rely on are still available and most tiles are unchanged. They are grouped into dedicated areas, so you can move more directly to the task at hand.
Profile information
The profile information (constituent summary) remains available at the top of the record for common record-level actions.
What changed
Some quick reference details moved to the customizable Personal information tile on the Overview tab, so you can choose which details appear first. In this case, we are trading a little extra scrolling for more customization and user-specific information.
What stays familiar
- You can still view tags with alerts.
- You can still edit names.
- You can still delete constituents.
- Other common actions remain available from the summary.
Explore the tabs
Each tab is organized around a common area of work. Use the Overview tab for a quick read on the constituent, then move to other tabs for more details or edits.

Participation
The Participation tab includes events, volunteer information, memberships, recognition, and portal access. Use it to understand how the constituent engages beyond giving.
Communications
The Communications tab includes email history and appeals, giving you one place to review recent outreach and related general communication activity before you follow up.
Actions
The Actions tab provides a dedicated full-page list for reviewing, adding, and managing actions associated with the constituent. This gives you quicker access to actions so you can move on to next steps and follow-up activity.
Notes
The Notes tab gives notes their own focused page, so you can review context and history associated with the constituent without navigating through the full record.
Attachments
The Attachments tab gives files their own focused page, so you can find attachments associated with the constituent more easily.
Add-ins
The Add-ins tab provides a dedicated area for partner integrations and connected apps, keeping extended functionality available without crowding the main record view.
How the rollout works
The tabbed layout is planned as an environment-level opt-in before wider release. An environment administrator will control when the organization moves to the new experience, giving your team time to preview the change, understand what is different, and prepare users before opting in for your organization. Once we’ve seen significant opt-in, the layout will release to all organizations.
