Re: What is your favorite part of your job?
My favourite thing is the grateful face I get when I help someone with a list or a task they were struggling with, and I can offer a solution. Makes all the challenging days worth it!
Re: BBCON Value for Altru Users
I attended bbcon in 2019 and there were some altru specific sessions, arts & culture specific sessions plus meet-ups. The most useful part was the Blackbaud University Day, which was the day before the conference. There were actual classes that taught a lot of Altru how-tos. I'm not sure if they are having that again, but I would recommend it if they do.

Re: Exporting if donor made a Tribute gift
You can also run a gift query to find only the tribute gifts during the timeframe you want. Under the main Gift node, scroll down to find Tribute Gift which is probably the last field. Add your date parameters and gift types as filters, and include the constituent ID in your output. That will make it very easy to do a VLOOKUP in Excel to add the tribute gift indicator to your main list.
This implies, of course, that you have the Tribute module and every tribute gift is connected appropriately.
Re: Merchant service - Venmo, Paypal
Here are the instructions for setting up Apple Pay:
For PayPal, you need to connect the PayPal business account in BBMS first:
Re: Merchant service - Venmo, Paypal
It didn't cost us any more to have these options on BBMS, and then used in various donation forms technology.
Re: NXT Add In- Adaptive Card (close after entering info)
@Kevin Fletcher this is now completely resolved when Blackbaud introduced the new webrequest action feature.
I create the AIAC (All-Inclusive Adaptive Card) template utilizing this, so everything is more seamless and transition smoothly from initial input, submit, to final response message from submit.
Re: Selling Merchandise through RE NXT
I think consistency is important like Dariel said. If you already enter transaction purchase into RE as gift, then RE NXT Event online registration form makes perfect sense.
If for any reason you are not going to make the purchase as gift, the transaction exists in RE NXT webview batches, which you do not have to approval (not approved/committed batch = gifts are "not really" on the constituent record. There isn't a way to delete the not approved gift batch. (I do see a delete gift batch SKY API call that MAY be useable but never tried it).

Consistently getting errors when trying to consider apps
I keep getting errors such as "XYZ value cannot exceed 255 characters". Typically it is character counts relating to fields that did not have character limits. Short text answers for things such as "expected attendance" or "years event held" have translated into having a 10 character count max, although that's not how the fields were built by our team. I have sent back apps for revision and added in custom validation as well as character counts. I just received another where character count cannot exceed 10 characters… but they had 10 characters. It's getting frustrating to keep sending back applications for revision, especially when you have to ask them to limit it to… 10 characters and that's what they entered anyways. Is there a way to void the errors and consider the apps? I don't want to redo each and every field to a new field that has a numerical value entry, because that will mess up our internal forms view because we will have to keep adding field upon field, while keeping the old ones visible for historical data.
