New Consent Tile
Hi all
Has anyone else found the new Consent Tile a bit of a nightmare? We used categories for the different preferences e.g. Appeals, Events and Newsletters and we didnt have a top level Opt-in for the Channel. So when we opted someone into "Email" they got 3 consent records for each category. However now when we look at the record in NXT it displays the 3 categories but above it says "No overall channel consent found". So we need to now clean this all up. Anyone else having fun with this?
Re: "Spouse Assignment" in Profile Information block?
An adaptive card/custom tile like this would be very straight forward to do, if you went that route. Created this one in less than hour. It loads for any constituent record that is opened in Web View, information only appears if the constituent qualifies. The less calculations you have running in the flow, the faster the card appears on the record.
Re: "Spouse Assignment" in Profile Information block?
@Kevin Fletcher I suspect there are a plethora of ideas for business rules in WV. In the meantime, @Carlene Johnson is correct. You can't add the information where you would like but you could create a custom tile with that information. You would just need to train those who want to see the information to move the tile to the top of their view.
Re: What is your favorite part of your job?
Creating workflows with staff and seeing their long-term payoff. Also, the puzzle-solving element is cool, too. Very satisfying when you have the "a-ha!" moment.
Re: Help with using the POST Request API
Hi,
It took a few weeks to raise a support ticket, as I wasn’t familiar with the process—the chat feature wasn’t working for me, I couldn’t reach anyone by phone, and it took some time to locate the correct email address. It turns out that everything in the UK is handled by Buzzacott.
After discussing it with Buzzacott, I get the impression the current functionality is intentional. Many fields in the requests table are tied to ID fields, so it would make sense not to allow the description of the ID field to be updatable, as otherwise it could cause issues in the back end. So, limiting the API to only update custom fields would keep things simpler and avoid complications.
That said, I’ve asked Buzzacott if they can raise it with BB as I'd like to hear the official answer. I've not heard anything back yet. I'll update this feed when I do hear something.
The Buzzacott support ticket number is: C-27611 if that helps.
Re: NXT Duplicate Management - Are you using it?
That an excellent question @Austen Brown. I am really worried about some of the Prospect data. We use a lot of financial information which is not editable in NXT. I just ran a test with a duplicate which had information in both records to see if this information would merge successfully, and I'm glad to say it did.
I would love if there was a bit more information if there was data that does not carry over. I don't doubt that @JoAnn Strommen's not seeing the NetCommunity stuff move over. I would like to see a definitive list of what can be merged and what can't.
I'll go back up and edit my post since I see things are different than I expected.
Re: Power BI - Record Limit
it appears you are using the custom power bi connector (unofficial, supported by the community).
I recently saw someone having this issue too. So to explain the error: Power BI custom connector basically call the "list gift" api endpoint to get gift data, the list gift api only allows limit of 5000 gifts at a time, and in order to get all the gift data, it will require to make multiple calls, and then offset the next set of 5000. (you filtering for last 3 years is not taken into consideration, at least I don't believe so @Matt Thacker can better confirm this behavior), Meaning, if you have a total of 2 million gift records, it will try to get all 2 million gift records starting with:
offset 0 limit 5000
offset 5000 limit 5000
offset 10000 limit 5000
so on and so forth for 400 calls (400 x 5000 = 2M), THEN it will do the filter on gift date for last 3 years.
Your error is when you got to offset of 285000 (you got 280K gift record successfully), there is an internal server error in Blackbaud, and your call failed.
@Erik Leaver something that might need Blackbaud API team to look into, I see 2 posts about this problem already.
You can avoid this problem by using a SAVED RE NXT Gift List that is already filtered on last 3 years of gifts. Then in Power BI, select the list saved, and it will only get gifts that is based on this saved list's filter.
Shaun's comment is a good one as well, which basically means, get the data using power automate and save it somewhere in cloud (SharePoint), and then have Power BI go to that saved location for the data. There are many templates that will help you with it in template showcase.
A Policies Document for NXT that is less "How to" and more "How we do"
Hi All,
I am new as a Data Analyst to my Healthcare Foundation, and my first task is creating a Policies and Procedures document. Realistically, I know that most fundraisers and employees will not read through a 100-page document. The classes that BB University offers in NXT are great for teaching the "how to" for different areas of the database.
I would like to create a smaller document that includes fewer general instructions like "how to add a constituent" and is more "these are our mandatory fields…this is when you add a constituent…this is our policy on updating constituents…" assuming team members have already taken their assigned BBU training courses. This is just an example, I would also include everything else like gift entry, access, etc.…
I really want this to cover all bases and include our best practices to keep data integrity and keep our database clean without being unnecessarily long. I am new to this position and new to Raisor's edge, I would love to hear from some of you folks with experience!
Is this a good idea, is this something you have done before? If so, please share and attach any examples or outlines I can learn from! I have been searching but can't seem to find anything that aligns with what's in my head or what is new in NXT lol.
Re: PowerUp Challenge: Third Email Marketing Task
Sorry I'm on a tiny screen (well my laptop - could be smaller on my phone.) I did three pictures because of that I just love some of these images :) I
love the addition of this is a test email and the notice of when the links will expire. That always freaked people out when we were testing with frontline fundraisers and leadership.
We still do not personalize in web view emails as we don't like the options. We are inclusive although we only have one record for parent/grandparent couples so first name and preferred name don't work for us. We need to be able to use addressee/salutation as they were designed and to allow for one and if that doesn't exist a second option. Here is an idea for the idea bank for this.
etc. . . .
