Re: Different data between API and UI in Sandbox
If you have a specific call that is different from the data in the UI, please give some detail. I can look into it to see if it is expected behavior. Bryna is right that Directories control what is shown more granularly, so the differences there might be by design.
Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge NXT®: General Ledger Posting to Blackbaud Financial Edge NXT®
We’re making significant strides to build end-to-end workflows in Raiser’s Edge NXT while enhancing system connectivity. One exciting advancement is the ability to post gift batches directly from Raiser’s Edge NXT web view to Financial Edge NXT. This feature makes it easier to track gift accountability and optimize your financial processes. You’ll now see journal references right in the Raiser’s Edge NXT web view interface, complete with links to Financial Edge NXT for every posting. No more relying only on reports—everything you need is built into the platform.
While this marks a big step toward seamless integration, some processes still require action in database view. Full functionality is on the horizon, but for now, the general ledger (GL) integration is limited as we continue developing high-speed batch processing and GL distribution settings for the Raiser’s Edge NXT web view. Additional configuration options for funds, journal entry definitions, and other necessary components are also in the works.
How Do I Create a New Post to the General Ledger in Raiser’s Edge NXT?
Start by navigating to Gifts, then Post gifts, and choose Generate post.

Under the General section, name your post and set up the batch settings. Keep in mind that you can only post one batch at a time.
- Decide which records to include: all records, query of records or adjustments and reversals only.
- Select a date range, then choose your post format: Summary, detail and summary cash.
- Define your Journal reference and Journal code to create an open journal entry in Financial Edge NXT.
- Choose whether to use the Anonymous gift format.
- Under Filters, select the specific funds to include in your post.
- Click Generate. A quick note: You cannot edit gifts during the posting process.
- Review the batch details.
- If there are issues, select Reject to return all gifts to their unposted state.
- If everything looks good, click Post to complete the process.
Remember, gift batch details expire after 29 days. After that, you'll need to query posted gifts again.
Can I Reverse a Posted Gift?
Yes. If a gift was returned or an error occurred during posting, you can reverse it directly in Raiser's Edge NXT, effectively removing its post status. This capability ensures that your financial records are accurate and aligned.

As we continue building a more unified gift management experience in Raiser’s Edge NXT, stay tuned for additional improvements like high-speed batch processing coming later this year. We’re committed to providing a truly integrated system that simplifies your work, improves your data, and connects your platforms seamlessly.
More enhancements are on the way. Keep an eye out for updates through the Raiser’s Edge NXT Community and the Future of Raiser’s Edge NXT page.
Re: Paciolan Integration
@Heather Tubbs other importing tools to consider are Importacular by Zeidman Development or Smart Import, by Smart Team. All the tools allow you to create templates to minimize the amoutn of data that is manually manipulated.
Re: Syncing "Campaign Sum" (NXT into WordPress)
@Ben Mackey
You can use website components for this. You can find this in RE NXT > Online Giving > Website components.
this allows you to create something that is based on RE NXT data and be embedded to your WP webpage
Re: PowerUp Challenge: Second Gift Management Task
@Crystal Bruce Nice to have that funtionality but I don't see the gifts tied to the tribute like you would in database view.
Re: Gift Subtype - what do you use it for?
@Cameron Alzubi & others,
We are a non FE shop as well, and a pretty small team too. The GL codes angle would make sense in the FE world but since we aren't using FE, the info would be meaningless. The GL code wouldn't make much sense to me to see it since I'm not on that team. Using subtype for this extra piece of “source” info is helpful in tracking the story of the donation. Inevitably someone will ask, “when/how/if so and so made a donation” and knowing in an instant that they wrote a cheque tells me where I can look to find the original / scan if needed. Also helps to troubleshoot with the donor if they're looking for a tax receipt so I can quickly understand where it might have gone awry.
I think people can be tempted to use Appeal for this same thing, but IMO it gets messy to mix the “why they donated” (Appeal) with the “how they donated” (Subtype). And I'd prefer that Appeal is only used for “things we've done to ask people to support us in some way"
Example of subtype as “How they donated” helping:
Donor calls in asking for tax receipt & we can see immediately that they donated via a third party organization (Canada Helps). Without knowing anything about the donor I can confidently say that CanadaHelps is who issued it & wont have to spend any time finding the “story” of the gift before being able to help them out.
Or if a gift was the result of a DAF, it's handy to know that right away as the gift will have soft credits on it & I know I might need to hunt around a bit.
If a gift subtype is NXT, I can almost immediately assume that a receipt was emailed to them.
If a subtype is Physical mail, there's a good chance we sent their receipt in the mail.
If a subtype is Physical mail, and it was GIK, I know that RE is (frustratingly) unable to include the gift amount on a PDF receipt, so the receipt for this persons gift is sitting in my custom receipt folder and was sent out by mail or email.
If a subtype is Telephone it's a toss up between their receipt being sent via email or physical.
It seems minor but somehow it speeds things up a lot to have a clue how a donor interacted with you. Knowing that someone only ever gives with a cheque in the mail is a really important piece of intel about them.
I think if we were to start using FE, we could just begin using subtype for GL codes, but until then we probably will make this our standard unless there's a good reason not to.
Re: New Application Portal
@R Avila Using the form builder, you can add file upload files. It can be single file or multiple files.

Re: Merging Tributes and Viewing Tribute Gifts in Raiser's Edge NXT Webview
Welcome to the community @Julie Fournier! In the current version, there's no way to view tribute gifts like in database view. And tributes merge just like they do in db view. It creates a new iteration of them, but does not merge and combine them into one listing.
Database view handles tributes much better currently. That may change in the future…
Re: Gift Subtype - what do you use it for?
@Alex Wong
Hi!
At my current organization we do not use Financial Edge so we don't use the sub-type to filter GL information. Additionally, we have only one banking institution that we need to reconcile with. We like that this field is available in NXT lists as a filter so we use this to identify the source of giving. PayPal, Benevity, GiveCampus, etc.
Re: Gift Subtype - what do you use it for?
@Alex Wong
We use Subtype to show how the gift was received/where given. We get people sending gifts to our different locations, so subtype shows that location, or ACH (for transfer), or OLX (for online).
