ACH/EFT/Direct Debit

We are starting our process to support ACH / Direct Debit from our CRM/Luminate/BBMS API systems. I cannot find any knowledge base entries on what we need to do for setup.
Can we do everything with BBMS, or do we need to use a third party processor.
