Bulk Assigning Contracts - More Filters Please

I am starting to assign contracts to students for the 2020-2021 academic year - and finding some limitations with the current filters available. Specifically - when I pull the grid of students with a contract type from the previous academic year - I would prefer that it exclude any students who have a current contract assigned to their record. Otherwise I run the risk of assigning to contracts to one student. Something along the lines of  "Has a current contract" as a Yes/No option.

I created this idea in the idea bank and would love to gain some more votes or suggestions on how others are handling this.
