Conflicting instructions for Internet Explorer settings

We're doing testing in NXT and all was fine until we followed the recommendation to update IE settings: https://kb.blackbaud.com/articles/Article/72419


Immediately after, we are unable to get in renxt.blackbaud.com. We find this article basically saying to undo all the changes above: https://kb.blackbaud.com/articles/Article/110301?_ga=2.111977548.938194810.1580819658-323036779.1572452637


This is unfortunate because the change in the first article was propagated for all the computers in the organization and now we have to ask IT to undo the changes. Does anyone know why this happens?
