Consecutive giving information on a Constituent record in the web view - Help!

On the Giving tile on a constituent record you get this information: 8 years giving with 8 years consecutive. Am I correct in telling my office that we can't determine the criteria for this information and that it can't be exported out?


I understand how to run the consecutive years report in the database view and I know how to define the criteria for it. This calculation in the web view is not customizable, but it is very appealing to people in my office who want to use it. They want to be able to export it and merge it into letters and put it in reports. They can't understand why the number can be different from what I tell them. For instance - the web view means that they gave 8 years consecutively - it doesn't necessarily mean that for this current year they are a consecutive donor. I understand that this is an interesting metric to look at and maybe it's just intended for that - but try explaining that to others.

Help Blackbaud RENXT engineers - what can I tell them.
