Why is there no Preferred Name Field when adding a New Constituent in RE NXT Web View?

This is infuriating to me. I was just told the Preferred Name/Nickname field is not available when adding a new constituent in the Web View. Apparently if you use this field, you will have to enter it in the database view. It's especially frustrating to us because this is the primary mailing name that we use so it is important to us. It is also frustrating that in the web view, the preferred name field appears on records that were created in the database view. So the field exists in the web view, but just not on the new Constituent Form. Basically, because of this limitation, we have to enter all new constituents in the database view. Meaning the only thing we will be able enter in web view is a one time gift to a constituent that already exists. All of our work will be in Database view, which is fine, except that we just spent so much time migrating. 


Was I told correctly, is there really no way to add preferred name to a new constituent in web view?

I think you're right about it not being in the initial form to create a new constituent, however once the constituent is created you can then use Edit > Name to enter Preferred Name (and also Former Name). It's not as seamless, for sure, but you can still add it.
