6 Day Rotation Schedule

Hi Everyone,

I am trying to do the impossible....6 day rotation schedule....my ultimate goal is to allow the front office to enter a child's name at any given day or time and it will tell you where that child is. Most of the day kids stay with their homeroom teacher...they have different teachers for special areas - spanish, music, art, library, little chapel, yoga and PE.

  • We have a 6-day rotation K-12 and it works well in the system.  Our middle school and upper school are on a rotating block schedule that is pretty straightforward to create.  In our LS, we only created classes for their specials (and a morning "homeroom" slot each day that we use for attendance - our office/parents know that any blank spots in the kids schedules mean that they're in homeroom.  We ended up with nearly 80 different meeting times in our lower school random schedule set.  It was a bit time consuming to create it the first year we implemented it, but it usually doesn't change significantly from year to year now (fingers crossed for next year!) so it's quick to roll it over and make little edits as needed.

Feel free to reach out if you'd like screenshots of our setup, etc.

  • We do a 8 day rotation schedule and we also rotate periods throughout the day. Have only one schedule that I'm happy to share as well. It took me awhile to figure this out.
