Omatic Modules

Hello everyone,

We are currently looking into some of the Omatic modules and was wondering if anyone has any opinions on the following modules and if they are worth the additional costs.

We currently have the Classy API connector, and are looking to invest in, the Data Integration Platform (known as ImportOmatic), their Records Management Module (known as List Management & their Duplicate Management (known as MergeOmatic).

Any insight offered is appreciated.

Thanks,

Kylee ?

  • We've had ImportOmatic for 5 years and I wouldn't be without it - so much more flexible than RE's built-in import functionality. The data dictionaries are very useful, they clean up a lot of the incoming data automatically.

We have Importomatics and we use it constantly. We use it for gift batches, new constituents, actions, and data cleanup.

We just got MergeOMatic and I believe it will be very helpful for us.
  • we have used it for years - do 20-30 imports/day

I can't imagine life without ImportOmatic.  I just came to an org that doesn't have it (yet!) and I'm dying!  Working on getting it soon though.  It has proven to be invaluable over the years.  I've purchased it at two previous organizations and it was money well spent.  Omatic Software is a wonderful company to work with.  Their products are solid and well thought out, their customer support is outstanding, and they are a joy to work with.  They are committed to continuously improving their current products as well as developing new ones.  The return on investment, for me, has always been achieved within the first year.  Happy to share more if you like!
  • As everyone else has said, yep, ImportOMatic easily pays for itself in time and energy saved five times over every year for us.  Our alumni import process used to take two weeks and it was honed down to about 2 days with ImportOMatic.  Totally worth it....

I also want to put in a plug for ScoreOMatic.  It allows you to build custom "scores" of your constituents that can be as simple or complex as you want.  If you can query on a value or field you can probably include it in a score.

This is useful for simple things like "Who has attended 10 of the last 40 events?" or "Who has given in 3 of the last 4 years?" but you can also combine a bunch of criteria and create a score that shows "Who are our best Planned Giving Prospects?"

ScoreOMatic is relatively affordable and we keep finding neat uses for it....

    Marie,

I would love to hear more about the MergeOMatic, this is one of the modules we are looking to onboard.  Sounds extremely beneficial for cleaning up our database.

    Thanks!

You can scan your whole database,or select a group of records to scan.

I like the fact that you can merge groups of records at one time, and it also keeps notes and an alias of the record that was merged,

    Hi Alan,

Are you able to share some of your dictionaries you are using? I am looking to create dictionaries for street abbreviations.

Also looking for a dictionary for Canadian Postal codes, some people add a dash and I need this removed and a space to be added.

    Thanks!

    Kylee

  • We don't tend to use dictionaries for street abbreviations since we have AddressAccelerator, but we do use them for countries, titles, phone types and a bunch of other stuff.

For your postal code issue, if you create a dictionary entry with a space as the replacement value, tick the 'use regular expressions' box, and put a dash as your value to match on, that should replace all your dashes with spaces.

The blank space absolutely worked!! Thank you for that suggestion!!

What is AddressAccelerator? Is this another module? Sounds like I have allot of learning :)

    Thanks again!

  • Sorry I should have elaborated, yes AddressAccelerator is an optional module for ensuring that your addresses in RE are formatted correctly. You can use it on single records and on all constituents in a query. There's an article here on 'What is AddressAccelerator and how to use it?'

Hi Carlene - We're looking at getting MergeOmatic. Can you provide me with a little more detail about how the process works?

    Hello,

I am attempting to build a case to purchase the OMATIC plug in to help us manage our

Grateful Patient program we just purchased from Blackbaud.

With this plug in, can we use workflows and automatic e-mails from NXT like we do with normal constituents? We do not have an “outside” e-mail platform. All of our e-mail goes through NXT.

Also, can you “query” inside of Raiser's Edge on these non-constituents just like your regular constituents?

    Thanks

    Hi Potique,

Regrettably, non-constituent records imported into List Management in Omatic are not accessible in lists in WebView, you would not be able to use workflows and automatics e-mails. For our Grateful Patient Appeals we currently use MailChimp opposed to NXT for this reason.

You can query your non-constituent list from Database view but the process is slightly different. You will need to build your query as you normally would, then run the query from your List located in the Omatic Module.

    I hope this helps!

    Kylee
