Google Analytics E-Commerce Tracking in Online Express

How do you enable E-Commerce tracking for online express donation forms? Is there a step by step guide available?

Hi Peter. The main challenge with getting OLX to work with Google Analytics or Tag Manager is the fact that OLX forms don't redirect the visitor to a different page URL after a successful transaction. We made this decision when launching OLX to prioritize the ease of use in not requiring OLX customers to create an additional thank you page. Knowing that this meant it would be tougher to implement GA tracking, we built some basic form conversion analytics into OLX.


That said, it's possible to use OLX with either Google Analytics or Google Tag Manager today. But requires a bit of custom javascript to be included on the page whose job is to detect when a successful transaction has occurred and when it has, to inform GA or GTM of that fact. It wouldn't be a lot of code, but it's not a customization that Blackbaud directly provides or supports.


I'll also add that we do have in our idea backlog the long-standing request for a native integration of OLX with either GA or GTM. If you haven't already, it would be great if you could vote on that idea in the OLX ideas area (search for the string BBOX-I-487 in the search box).
