Revenue category & matching gifts

Here is a recent scenario I've run into when booking matched gifts, and I'm curious if anyone else has encountered this. We booked an individual's pledge payment, and we need to book an associated matching gift from their organization. We committed the individual donor's revenue, then set up a matching gift claim to pay the matching funds. However, the revenue category did not carry forward from the pledge onto the matching gift's designation fields. Therefore, when we go to apply the matching gift claim, it cannot save because of the lack of revenue category.


The revenue category is an essential piece of our GL and we cannot book without it, but I also cannot seem to locate where to manually add or edit the revenue category on a matching gift claim. Oddly enough we do not seem to have this problem when booking one-time, non-pledged payments - only pledge payments seem to have this error. I know our fundraisers are pushing matching gifts so I would like to know if this is a problem I can work around or if we need to develop a new business process. 


Any ideas on how to get around this in order to book a matching gift on a pledge payment?
