Exactly what happens when someone opts out from email sent via ReNXT

I am trying to understand exactly what happens when someone receives an email from NXT and chooses to opt out.  Blackbaud documentation says their "record" is excluded from future mailings. What about those persons who are fine with getting our emails at one address but not another? Are the constituent records going to be excluded or just the particular opted out email address?  Does NXT label the particular email address in such a way that we can identify it in DB view for queries etc? Is there a way to migrate the huge number of opted out emails Blackbaud has stored for us from using Net Community for 8 years over to NXT so NXT will not send to these, even if the email address pops up as primary again because they used it to register for an event or something?  Also I understand NXT can only send to a preferred address no matter which address type we choose when setting up the email. Is this ever going to change? We have many constituents who like getting our emails at more than one address.  Thank you in advance for any assistance you can lend. The emails in NXT are super easy to create so development loves them, but I am trying to figure out what the heck they are doing to our database before sending anymore.

Hi when people opt out of our emails the email address is marked as DNC and the solicit code NO emails appears on there record - You can map this via Business Rules - consent 


You can create a query to show you all records that have emails marked with DNC


I did this by following the below

On the Criteria tab, browse to and select the following fields: 


 Addresses > Preferred Address > Preferred Phones > Preferred Phone Do Not Contact? equals Yes
AND Addresses > Preferred Address > Preferred Phones > Preferred Phone Type equals <Email 1>
