Museum Collection In-Kind Donations

My organization currently uses Past Perfect to record donations to our collections, and RE NXT to track in-kind and cash gifts. However, we would like to incorporate gifts to the collection in RE NXT so that our Development Team can look in one place to see how the donor has been involved with our organization. As we aren't allowed to assign a value or assess anything that is donated to our collections, if the donor decides not to get it appraised, there is a $0 value in Past Perfect. Does anyone have recommendations on how to enter these gifts in RE NXT?


I was thinking maybe creating a gift sub type for collections, a Fund ID for collections, entering $0 amounts for all gifts to the collections with no value, and having the gift type be other. Am I on the right track? What are some best practices around this?
