Unqualified/Qualified Opportunity Status

Hi all,

We've been currently using opportunity status of unqualified and qualified fairly interchangeably as we really only need one status before Response Pending. We've noticed when using the regular "Amount" field in a query or data list, it's often returning zero when an Opportunity is qualified. Pretty sure this is because Qualified unlocks the "Ask Amount" field which defaults to zero. Has anyone else dealt with this and have any solutions or best practices for handling these opportunity statuses?

Thanks!

  • We use Unqualified to show an ask of $50,000 or higher and requires supervisor approval.  Qualified is used when the fundraiser is prepared to make the ask and if above $50,000, it's been approved by the supervisor.  You are correct in stating that the Expected ask amount is the amount you plan to ask.  The Ask amount field, does not activate until the status is Qualified.  We then ask the fundraisers to enter the Expected ask amount again (as Ask amount) during the Qualified status OR if they have made the ask, change to the actual amount they solicited.  Hope this helps, if not, let me know.
