BBCRMLO data sync attribute Luminate Online - Update Multiple LO profiles

Help is needed to decipher the use of this attribute and does it mean what is says.  When reading this I read by applying this attribute, the two profiles identified with the attribute ConsID will be update with the data from the BBCRM record. Is anyone using this functionality?  I've searched through the documentation provided for this tool as well as the knowledge base for information on this attribute without any success.  I'm wondering if the use of this attribute is a way to manage records where the individual has a dual role eg faculty/staff and alumni, to keep the LO profile synced with the CRM profile.


Any information would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks in advance for your assistance.

    We use the LO Connector and have the "multi-sync" feature enabled to allow us to associate a single CRM constituent record to multiple LO constituent records. This is needed for us because CRM allows us to store multiple email addresses on one constituent record, but LO only allows for one actionable email address per constituent record.  We work hard to avoid duplicate records in CRM, but duplicate constituent records are required in LO for us to email our constituents at every email address they share.


    Working in connection with this multi-sync feature, it's my understanding that the "LO Sync - Update Multiple LO Profiles" constituent attribute is automatically applied by the constituent sync to  stop one of the multiple LO records  connected to a single CRM record from being updated on the next sync from CRM to LO.  When an LO record is updated in LO causing it to sync to CRM, the Connector triggers the CRM record to sync back to LO. Because the initial change was made in LO, this attribute (with the value of the LO record constituent ID) prevents that LO record from unnecessarily being updated in LO.


    We've only used the LO Connector with multi-sync enabled so I am not aware of any other use for this attribute without that feature.  If you want to use the multi-sync feature and do not yet have it enabled, Blackbaud has told me that professional services must enable it.  They would also instruct you on how this changes the ability to use some Connector features that only work correctly with multi-sync disabled. We have so many constituents with >1 actionable email  that we couldn't live without the multi-sync feature.
