Automate Export Download to Excel

We have an export process that is setup on a schedule to run daily. We would like to automate the download portion to Excel and ideally email the attachment to a user.

Is this possible OR has anyone developed this type of functionality?

  • Hey there, we have queues that run an export process then use the auto file download process which has the ability to place the file within a specific SFTP folder. I don't believe there's anything out of the box available to email the file as an attachment.

You may find it interesting that at Canadian Red Cross we've specifically created policies to not send data files (especially unencrypted files) by email, but rather by SFTP (for automated queues) or by TitanFile (for adhoc file transfers) for data security reasons.
  • Hi,

Are you using NXT? If so there is a way to use a live sheet (Google Sheet or Excel) and the Blackbaud APIs. Our SmartSYNC can do that already. You don't send files that way, security is handled by Google or Microsoft. If this is of interest please private message me.
