Processing transactions

Hi - We are new to Online Express. when we try to process a transaction it tells us it cannot be processed because a consistent code is missing, but we are not sure how to fix this error to process the transaction? If someone can help or offer guidance on how to set this up propoerly please let us know. Thank you, Kerry

Hi Kerry Funkhouser‍ - The likely culprit is that constituent codes are required within your system.  You can get around this in one of three ways:

1. Set a Constituent Code to be applied to all transactions (OLX > Account > Integration Options > Constituents)
2. Select a Default Sets for new constituents, one for Ind records and one for Org records (OLX > Account > Integration Options > Constituents)
3. Un-require Constituent Codes within your system (Configuration > Fields > Constituent)

Hi Austin, Thank you. Do you know if I can do Option 1 or put a different constituent code to each donor form? Some are members and others are just donors so we don't want to apply members to every form if possible.

Unfortunately it is not possible to assigned a constituent code to a new donor based on the form they give through automatically.  Since you are leaning towards Option 1, I suggest you use a common constituent code to your system and then either update the constituent code after download in the gift Batch or after the gift is committed through a data review query.  We utilize the latter option to review new donor's constituent codes.

Thank you! One last question - how do we link a gift to a membership? I looked for the 'Link?' button but couldn't find it so would love to be able to do that if we can.

I did a quick search of the BB Knowledgebase and came up with KB Article #45984, which has instructions on how to link a gift with a membership within gift batch.  I also came across KB Article #70197, which includes a video that shows the steps you need to take to download memberships from OLX to RE.
