Is SSO required to connect an app?

Hi!

I'm working with a client that needs to connect to our application but is unable to visit the Applications page. We were wondering if Single Sign-On needs to be enabled in order to to visit that page?

Bonus question: Would enabling Single Sign-On force all users in the client's community to authenticate via their IdP? Or can the client just pick specific users that will authenticate via their IdP?

Edit: The application we're trying to connect works with the School API, and this page gives the instructions for connecting the app, but I can't tell if SSO is required based on this.

  • I think an NXT user must be coded in the dataview as a solicitor to have access to the applications available in NXT.
  • Hi Mark Guncheon‍, thanks.

Apologies, I think my original link directed to NXT applications, but I'm looking to connect an app for the Education Management platform. What would an Education Management user need to connect an application?

I've also updated my question with a link to the instructions I'm using.
