Is there a way to globally change ID information on constituents

ID Information that was imported from old data to RE-NXT ended up in Personal Info under Constituent Summary (see attachment).  The IDs came over as "jibberish" and actually need to reflect if constituent is a patient, family member, professional, donor, grant provider, etc.  I have finally figured out what these jibberish codes represent.  Can I globally change constituent records with matching codes to a code that is readable?  Example:  existing code 003o000000QHleNAAT is for family members, I want to change all constituents with this code to "Family Member".

Any insight and direction is greatly appreciated!  Even if you tell me no, that will save me from looking for another way!

Thanks!

  • This is the same approach as the inactive/active change.

So create a query with your gibberish codes in and create a constituent global change, selecting your query, and select Code from Constituent Codes, then Operation is Replace, select the one that is incorrect and replace with the correct one.

    See screenshot.
  • Wonderful, I'll give it go!

    Thanks!
  • Susan,

Are you looking to change the constituent ID - which is what appears to be the jibberish - or to change / add a constituent code?  It sounds like you should ultimately change both.

You can change the constituent ID but it would be an export/import.  You will need to use the constituent's ImportID as your unique identifier in the import process, since that cannot be changed.  If you also need to change / add a constituent code, that is also possible via import and possibly global change.  I would do that first.

Sorry - that isn't overly explanatory, but I don't have the time at the moment to go in to a lot of detail.  I was just hoping to clarify what it is that you are looking to change.
