New Report Card Builder - Generate Report Cards for Withdrawn Students??

I discovered today that I cannot generate report cards using the new builder for withdrawn students. The report cards literally don't exist, for me or for the parent. When I chatted with support, they told me that this was by design, and the only way to generate the report card was to re-enroll the student, generate the report card, and then withdraw them again. This seems like a ridiculous waste of time to me. Has anyone figured out a quicker workaround for this issue?

  • Hi Jeannie,

I can view them one by one by going to Academics>People Finder. They are listed on the right hand side under Report Cards. I also created a "Past Students" directory which allows me to pull them  up via their Progress Page when I go to "Options > Contact Card".

It looks like our Past Students cannot pull them, but our Past Parents can. Make sure the "View Report Cards" role task is checked off in Core>Security>Roles>Past Parent>Tasks.  In our case, the Role is checked off for both Past Parents and Past Students but they only show for Past Parents.

  • Hi Nancy,

No grades appear when I pull the report card in Academics. I get the header of the report card, but no grades at all. The "View Report Cards" role task is checked off in Core>Security>Roles>Past Parent>Tasks, but when I impersonate the parent, no grades appear. This is only for the report card made with the new builder. I can view and generate the report cards made with the old builder with no issues.

  • That's bizarre.  My "new builder" Report Cards show when I pull them for Past Students, along with the grades and comments.  We use them exclusively for our LS, and as MIdSemester Progress Reports for our US. We use the "old builder" for our MS and US Semester Report Cards.

Is there something amiss under the "access"?  Have you changed your grading/changed the grades pulled in on the Design Form section of the template in any way?

  • Aha! Your comment about the Design Form solved the problem. I had to check "Include dropped courses," and now grades appear when I generate from the student page. We are a small elementary school, and so I had ignored that, assuming I would just be able to generate past report cards. Thanks for the help!
  • Excellent!
