BBCRM: How to give credit to non-fundraisers for their participation in realizing a gift?

Hi everyone,

At Concordia University, each fundraiser is recognized for their fundraising efforts for any amount for any levels (i.e. major/annual/lead/planned) by applying solicitor credit to that particular revenue transaction. To do this, the fundraiser's profile needs to have an active Fundraiser constituency code assigned to their profile. This constituency code also triggers a set of built-in fundraising functionalities/features (i.e. Fundraiser tab). All this works well for our fundraising team.

However, we also have informal fundraisers (ex. Alumni Officer, Student Caller, external solicitor, staff) whom we want to give credit and track for their efforts in bringing in the gift. These individuals are not tied to any prospect plans. How do you handle these types of solicitor credits at your institution? Simply assigning the Fundraiser constituency code to these individuals will mess up our fundraising team's metrics.

We are using CRM 4.0 SP 22.  Any input you can share with how your institution processes these types of solicitor credits are most appreciated.

  • Hi,

At SickKids Foundation we haven't applied solicitor credits to 'volunteer' fundraisers, but we do track the efforts of our cabinet members via adding them to Plans as participants. We also track them as participants on interactions/plan steps that led towards the gift.

There have been requests to track non-staff solicitors via recognition credits but we have resisted applying these as it creates recognition credit chaos.
