Can I modify the batch information for automated recurring gifts in NXT before it is approved?

We have recently converted most of our recurring gifts to process automatically. My issue is that I can't see a way to create a template (like in the database view) that will allow us to tag the gift with a letter code and other various things that I have to change manually after the batch is approved and sent to the donors record. Is there a way to customize the batch in NXT? Maybe this is coming later? It is tedious to have to open the batch then open each record to modify the gift information so when I run mail receipts the gift is handled correctly.
