Is there an assignment attachment size?

I have a teacher who scans pages on a copier and saves them as a PDF to upload into an assignment. It appears that there is a 4mb limit on the file size. Is this new? did I miss the memo while I was out getting my Covid haircut?

    Hi Jim Robb‍ first, nice haircut. Yes we're aware that the limitation was introduced with our assignment release this summer and have it in our dev planned work for the next couple of weeks to change that back. I'm not sure why the new threshold was introduced, I apologize for the inconvenience. I believe if teachers go to the gradebook and edit the assignment from there they can still upload the larger files, we will be making the assignment edit experience from the list views consistent with that functionality. Should be coming this month.

    Hi Angie - is there a more firm update on the file limit issue?  This is driving our faculty crazy - a lot of 5-10MB files that they are scrambling to break up or compress and it shouldn't be that bad.  I was thinking that it would be addressed in today's update given the error message looks like it is only changing a value of the variable on the back end...if it would take time to re-program the assignment center, couldn't the file size be increased to something like 400 MB?
