Text Editor

Maybe I'm slow on this realization but I just discovered when working a faculty member today how incredibly difficult the new text editor is. He was attempting to edit a question on an assessment but it kept coming out all wonky in the assessment preview. There were line breaks and pieces of text were italicized. I made the assumption that he had copied and pasted the text from elsewhere and brought some formatting with it but there wasn't anything out of the ordinary in the source code. Unfortunately, the editor doesn't have a remove formatting option either (unless I just can't find it) which seems odd to me because even the text editor I'm using here does. I then found this article in the knowledgebase that basically says that in order to use the assessment text editor "you will need to follow the LaTex rules". My teacher had "$" symbols in the text which is what was causing the problem. Why would Blackbaud make teachers jump through these kind of hoops just to type a question on an online quiz? And how would my teacher know they had to jump through these hoops?

Angie Addison‍ Any chance you can bring this up to development? I'm not going to bother submitting a ticket because I've found that if I try and work with support about these kinds of things, they say it's a "feature" not a bug.
