Just wanting to check that my constituent criteria will give me what I expect it to....


I want this workflow to send the associated email to anyone who has setup a new recurring gift.  Is this the correct selection?   I don't want my recurring gift donors to get the email each time their RG is processed, but I also don't want the email to go to people who give once-off first time gifts....  


Also what's the difference between gift type = 'recurring gift payment'  and 'recurring gift'.... should I select gift type = 'recurring gift' to send my email to my new RG donor as soon as they sign-up rather than on the day their gift is processed?

A Recurring Gift is the original template for the gift that you add. This includes the amount and the scheduled frequency. This is setting up the promise to give on a regular basis.


A Recurring Gift Payment is a payment on the original promise. So, you may see someone sets up a Recurring Gift and that they have many Recurring Gift Payments on their record.


Currently it looks like your Workflow is going to send to anyone who is having their first Recurring Gift Payment processed. If you want it to be sent to anyone who sets up a Recurring Gift promise, you will want to choose Recurring Gift as your choice instead.
