Hey Y'all


I'm having trouble with a specific task I'm trying to do.


I want to identify a certain group of duplicates in my database.


A few members from various boards have duplicate records and I want to find them. I know the duplicates have the same name and address but do not have the attribute of board member like the master record does.


I have tries some various querying and export techniques but no luck.


Any ideas?

Do they have any unique attributes? That's the only way I can think of to specifically pull in what you're looking for. Otherwise, how many of these specific dupes are there? Could query for those names and addresses of the board members marked with that constituency code, export out their last name, then individually search for those records. It will be tedious, but the only way I can think of doing it. 


Otherwise, have you run the duplicate management plug in on RE?

The Duplicate Constituent Management Tool in database view or Tools/Data Health in webview can help find duplicates, but if you have a lot of possible duplicate records and don't have time to deal with them all it is hard to drill down to these specific constitients.


MergeOmatic will allow you to find duplicates in your database for a specifc group (query) of records. It is wonderful! But the cost can be prohibitive.


Assuming you don't have that, do you have ImportOmatic? You could import an action to the board member's records but don't use their ID, force ImportOmatic to find them based on their names and contact details and I will find other records that match too. Add a cons code and attribute to those it finds as you go or merge them as you go. I have not tried other importing tools but if they have a dedupe function you may be able to use them in a similar way. You can always delete the action later.


A query would be my next choice e.g. Address Line 1 is one of... , OR email is one of... OR phone is one of... you can paste the values from Excel if you have the data already.
