Gift Amount Less Benefit Amount Field

Hi,


I need to do an export of the True value of a gift (Gift Amount Less Benefit Amount Field).  Is there a field for that?  If not, is there any way to do a calculated fields within a RE export or does that have to be done in Excel?

Wouldn't this be the receipt amount?  I suppose it depends on how you entered the gifts.


Otherwise, no you can't format the export itself to do calculations. You would need to do it in Excel.

Thanks JoAnn.  That's what I thought it would be too but it seems like the receipt amount is the same as the gift amount in records that were converted.  I will need to speak with our Gift Processing Director to see if that is how it is supposed to be

When I've done gift with benefits, the receipt amount is the difference between the two - the actual donation amount.  That's why I posted, it depends on how you entered your data. 


You may have clean up project if all your gift amounts equal receipt amount. The gift amount if benefits were received is usually not the figure you want when figuring donation amounts, tax deduction amounts or lifetime giving.

If there was supposed to be a difference between the gift amount and the receipt amount, then I think there was an error in your conversion.  Receipt amount is definitely the place for this amount.  If you were to use the benefits button on the gift window in database view, you'll see that the gift receipt amount = gift amount - benefit amount.
