Contact form

I'm new to RENXT, but it appears the system allows me to create two forms. The donate form requires users to enter a dollar value of their donation. The event form requires me to enter a dollar value for the event ($0 if it's a free event). I'd like to have a form that allows users to simply sign up for our email updates - name, email and maybe phone, address, etc. - without them being asked for money. Any suggestions, or is this one for the IdeaBank?

  • Welcome to the NXT community, Chris!  That can't be done in the web forms, but that can be done in Online Express in the database view.  Here are two links that might be helpful:  Create an Email Signup Form (blackbaud.com) and How to download Email Signups from Online Express into The Raiser's Edge (includes video demo) - Blackbaud Knowledgebase.  Once their signup is in RE and you have their email address, you can then use either the outbound email tool in the web view or OLX to send the emails.  You can still post to the Idea Bank to get this function into the web view where it eventually will need to be as well.
  • Hi,

You can do it using sky API too of course. With the sky API you can connect web forms to NXT to do the creation of the contact record and their email address.

Then you would use the built in email tools of NXT or even third party systems like MailChimp via the sky API.

Have a look at the partner apps in the marketplace to see your options there.

We do have an app built with sky API (in the marketplace) that does all the above but you could build it yourself too. Anyway message me if interested in finding out more.

    Cheers

  • Thanks, Bill and Warren. Those both sound promising and I'll look into them. Happy new year!

We've started using the email function in NXT, but I want to go back in DBV to use this email sign up form. Under email marketing it now says ‘click to re-enable email in Online Express’ If I do that, will it affect emailing in NXT?

    Thanks
