RENXT and FENXT Integration - are both necessary to post to GL?

Our Advancement Office is considering moving from RE 7 to RENXT.  We have some questions regarding integration. First question is do we have to have both RENXT and FENXT to be able to post to the GL?   Right now both RE and FE are self-hosted on our local servers.

    Hi Leilani McHugh‍ - I believe in order to have the integration between RE and FE, they both need to be hosted by BB.  NXT is an add-on view, that would not impact this.  For instance, my org has FE and RE hosted by BB; FE has NXT turned on, RE does not - we are still able to have the integration between the systems.

    Some organizations that use FE7 and RE:NXT (or visa versa) use PostOmatic for the post to GL feature. PostOmatic is a third-party plugin from Omatic. If you can't move to NXT yet for either RE or FE, it might be an option to consider.

    Austen is correct.  Both program have to be in the same technical environment in order to integrate, but it does not matter if both, neither or one is on NXT.  So, Leilani, RE could move to RE NXT and FE stay on FE 7, but for them to have the same technical integration that do now, FE would need to move to BB Hosting.  Or you would need to break the link between the two systems and use the idea that Mike discussed (PostOmatic) or post via the standard file that RE can produce that FE can import.
