Writing Off Planned Gifts

Hi all,


We occasionally have planned gift payments that sum up to less than the amount originally committed. However, BBCRM does not allow you to write off planned gifts (only pledges), so we have a few planned gift commitments hanging out with small open balances that will never be paid. Does anyone have any suggestions for dealing with this? It's a continuing pain point for our gifts team.

From what I have seen, there tends to be a designated time period (usually a year or two) after which the organization will simply change the planned gift revenue amount to reflect the amount received. Not ideal, but that is what I've seen in the absence of this functionality.

What Bethany said, we change the rev amount to equal the PG amount. Not elegant but it works!
