Why is the formatting of webforms for packages so bad?

Patrick Turner

Today I created a package in Altru for the first time. I was very excited about the prospect of selling tickets for a series of events occurring in 2021. That is, until I saw the resulting webform. It is so poorly formatted I am absolutely certain that our patrons won't use it. Here's what it looks like: https://30606altru.blackbaudhosting.com/30606altru/Social-Science-2021-Series-14Aug2021

Has anyone had any success using CSS or another solution to clean up the design of a webform for a package?

Olivia Harding

Hi Patrick,

I don't know why this is the case, but the layouts/templates for webforms have to be coded in CSS or I think HTML. The page in Altru is Web>Configuration>Page Designer. We don't have anyone at our organization that does that kind of coding work, so we're using our website contractor for the work. We had to give them an Altru account and had them sign a privacy agreement, but I believe that the only way to get the webforms to look even a little nice has to be done by coding.

Good luck! We're trying to do the same thing!
