RENXT & SmartThing Integragtion

Has anyone tried to SmartThing integration for Mailchimp? We've been communicating with them for 3 months and can't seem to get straight answers about what is actually synced between RE & MC with their app. I've asked for a zoom meeting three times and can't get them to respond. It appears to be a financially feasible solution, unlike chimpegration, but the details are fuzzy.


I'd love to have a chat with someone using it.

We had the free trial for SmartMailChimp, but after the 30 days we never heard back from them so I still don't know how much it would cost for our facility. Frustrating. ?

Firstly apologies if our service has not been up to scratch here. There are a few reasons of course but one of which is just how many clients we have with requirements at this time - integration, automation and custom dev work seems to have shot through the roof in terms of demand. It has stretched our resources thin.


Lynette you were very early in our Mailchimp integration product release and we were still sorting through issues with other clients. We do however show that we were in contact but you indicated you were not interested, happy to pick up that conversation if you want to retry.


The integration is now very much in place and is working with lots of clients. It is two way and includes the option of creating new records on the fly if there are sign ups to Mailchimp as well as new Mailchimp contacts when records are added to RE. Consent records are included as are the ability to push other info about contacts to Mailchimp beyond the basic bio such as recent gifts etc. etc..


I think with your case Beverly we have been working with you on getting the data in Mailchimp and RE ready for the integration as you already have some processes in place. This has complicated things as the processes are difficult to follow from our brief contacts - you have, I see, suggested a call on our helpdesk. Sorry if we dropped the ball there but we will be in touch directly to pick up on that. It is a UK half-term break over here and thus you may not have had quick response this week if it was a non-urgent request.


Anyway, the product is out, in use and fully working so please do get back in touch if you wish to see it in action. You do also get a free 30 day trial.

Thinking back on it now, we chose not to use them at the time for no other reason than budgetary constraints. I couldn't justify the extra expense at the time.

Not sure if this helps but we use the Omatic Connector for MailChimp (connects via database view). We chose to use Omatic Connector after testing out a few of the available tools. Even though it's a manual push to bring data in from MailChimp to RENXT, we found it could do everything the way we wanted (time of testing was around 2018). It was also free to use and we've been using it since then. We have not tried pushing data from NXT to MailChimp though, just bringing data in. And because it's a manual push, we only import once a month (to collect data from the previous month).

Just want to give a shoutout to Warren and his team at SmartThing. They worked really hard to get all the data brought over for us into Mailchimp. We are able to segment for appeals, create automated workflows, and manage our email marketing much easier now. I think we will have some tweaks to make in the coming months, but Warren and his team promise to help with those.


SmartThing is also quite affordable compared to other options. Feel free to reach out if you have questions about what data we brought over, etc. Happy to help. As non-profits, every dollar counts. We believe this integration is worth the money.
