Processing new credit card recurring gift payments after a hard reject for automatic recurring gifts in NXT

Does anyone know how to apply new credit card payments to recurring gifts after a hard reject? The only thing I find in knowledgebase is that you can process a new one at the next payment cycle, but when we contact donors to get updated information, we generally need to process the missed payment immediately. In RE, you can only enter it as a one time gift, instead as a recurring gift payment, if the recurring gift has been converted to the new automatic pmt in NXT.

Anyone else have this issue and found a solution?

Hi Cathi Christopher‍ - We just started using the automated recurring gift system in NXT, and thinking this through I ended up with an idea and more questions... What if you prevented the $0.00 listing that appears in batch from being approved and filling the missed transaction on the schedule? Does the system know enough, that when a new credit card is entered on the recurring gift to make up for now missed installment?

Hi Cathi Christopher‍ - I just ran into this myself, and figured out that the answer I previously gave was partially bad advice. According to support, the preventing the $0.00 transaction from being approved is the right course of action, however the system does not recognize the new card as meaning a payment should be processed. You will also need to record the the new CC info in DBV to manually charge a donation to cover the missed donation through NXT; make sure this successful transaction is applied to the recurring gift record.

Once I have done this it will not allow me to apply the gift to the recurring gift because it has been moved to automated processing. Any other way around this that you?
